Glad that is out of the way

So we sign 23 and 'lose' 2, one because he believes that he is going to be a wide receiver at LSU and the other, for reasons ‘unknown’. The cited reason was because we don’t have a linebackers coach. Do you buy that? I don’t - in just the same way as I don’t buy that he would have signed with the Ags if Joe Kines had still been in charge. Obviously the

Surprised that this has not got more on an airing…

Saw this in an English newspaper today. There is a bit of rubbish and average journalism to sift through, but it is interesting to read all the same... Article In particular: Further research has steadily deepened understanding of the crisis. A survey of 1,000 retired professional players by the University of Michigan found 19 times more Alzheimer's disease or dementia than normal for men aged 30 to 49. An earlier study by the University of North

A slightly scary preemptive strike from Magnus or a sly dig, in any event... A Handy Tool Not to say that everybody has a price on his head - I doubt Monte Kiffin or Bud Foster would want to come but to give us an idea of what $400k may be able to get us? Ted Roof, Auburn $370k Willie Martinez, (ex) Georgia $327k John Chavis, L$U $450k Jim Heacock, tOSU $310k Brent Venables, OU $406k Ruffin Mcneill, TTU, $332k Bud Foster, VT

Special Teams, But-for Events and Moral Victories

Posted by EnglishAg on December 29th, 2009 under Uncategorized

Howdy Does anyone have a clue what to make of the I-bowl? I 'watched' in bleary eyed fashion via ESPN360 so rather than get into details of which I have no firm grasp, I choose to bask in the glory of moral victories. I spent a large amount of time in law school trying to plot a path through the laws of causation. The starting point in many countries is the but-for test: In order to

Congratulations to the old man - a stellar addition to the coaching staff. He received some bad press when he was hired but you can't doubt his contribution to the cause in the past two and a half years, or the development of quarterbacks in that time - first McGee went from punchbag to 4th round pick, then JJ went from wide receiver to Heisman watchlist by way of a top 5 total

Who’s out there?

So we finish the year with a top 25 offense dominated by underclassmen and a bottom feeding defense with a similar age profile. Most people expected the defense to be a step behind the offense, but a hundred or so ranking places seems to be more than a step. For the love of god, Darnell made a serviceable defense out of traffic cones, a sofa and a clock chewing offense. We have

Sorry Guys

As, you can, tell, I have pretty much mailed in this season. Not in a bad way, not in a good way, just in a way. We were always going to end up around 6-6 / 7-5 but i didn't expect losses to CU and KSU. Given that they were both out of state road trips, I can live with that although I would prefer them to have been in front of

Mid term report and other random musings

Hi all After a couple of weeks, I am back in the game. Hopefully so is Fuller. So where do we stand now? At the start of the season, every Ag thought we were a work in progress. Sure, the amount of work that needed to be performed was uncertain, but in general, we all expected growing pains. I always thought that we would win the games we were supposed
